Description
Nomex Felt for Dye Sublimation
Nomex Sublimation Felt is used with sublimating ceramic tiles and other items with beveled edges or irregular surfaces. The ½” thick industrial strength, heat resistant pad cushions tiles and other irregular surfaces to allow the transfer to wrap tightly around the beveled edges without wrinkling. This also greatly reduces wear of the rubber lower platen from repeated presses during sublimation. Recommended to place felt on lower platen then place tile face down with vinyl transfer between and heat from back side of tile. This allows for even distribution of weight and allows for transfer to follow beveled edges. Use a PTFE non-stick cover sheet to avoid scratching or transfer of ink. Adjust heat press pressure to avoid excess pressure.
Nomex Felt Uses:
- Place the Nomex felt on the bottom rubber platen
- Place the sublimation transfer on the felt (face-up)
- Center the tile on the transfer image (face-down)
- Place a PTFE non-stick cover sheet on the back side of the tile to avoid scratching the upper platen
Nomex Felt Features & Benefits:
- Works with sublimation of materials such as: ceramic tiles, light switch plates, ornaments, glass cutting boards, sublislate
- For effective transfer printing onto beveled edges and irregular surfaces
- Reduces wear of Lower rubber platen
- High temperature resistance up to 400° F
